Starboard Cruise Services operates duty-free shops on cruise ships serving Asian and Pacific destinations with a high concentration of Japanese passengers. Associates who speak Japanese are able to deliver exceptional service to these guests, generating significantly higher sales.
This is a specialized and highly sought-after position. We are looking for 10 to 15 qualified candidates to board in the coming months.
Key Requirement
Conversational to fluent Japanese — this is the primary non-negotiable requirement.
You do not need to be a native Japanese speaker. Latin Americans who have studied Japanese, lived in Japan, or worked with Japanese clients are ideal candidates.
Full Requirements
Conversational to fluent Japanese (speaking & listening)
Intermediate to advanced English
Age 21 or older
Previous retail or sales experience preferred
Outgoing, service-oriented personality
Clean criminal record
Valid passport or ability to obtain one
No visible tattoos on face, neck, or hands
